This is a long overdue review. I have a weak digestive system and was also at one point allergic to soy. Found South River's products and tried their chickpeas miso. The quality is excellent, and my stomach feels good when I start my meal with a small bowl of the miso soup. Highly recommend it. Hope their products are available again soon!
You can also buy their products packaged in glass--perfect if you like to avoid plastics.
Years ago, I took a tour of South River's plant and was impressed by the care that went into making their products. I have bought their products many times in the past and recommend them highly. I especially like their dandelion-leek miso paste and some of their other specialty misos made with chick peas and adzuki beans.
